Our feeling is that the conventional, non-sustainable beauty industry has gotten some pretty fierce competition from the new modern brands that are currently popping up, one after the other. And it makes sense. We’re already spending a lot at the beauty counters, so why not put our money towards products that are mindfully made with the very best, non-toxic ingredients?

We’ve previously explored the benefits of natural and organic perfumes, deodorants, oils, nail polishes, shampoos, SPFs, hair oils, mascaras (and the list goes on), and step by step, slowly but surely, the old products in our bathroom cabinets are being upgraded to new, better versions. And now the turn has come to the dry shampoo – yes, there are some pretty good ones out there.
Not wanting to waste water washing our hairs too often, which is also not good for the hair and scalp, a dry shampoo is sort of a must. These 9 are made with natural and organic ingredients, like kaolin clay, tapioca and arrowroot, and come in non-aerosol dispensers (i.e. no gas).

How to: Go through section by section and apply the dry shampoo evenly at the roots. You can also use a soft kabuki type of brush as an applicator for loose powder ones. Tip your hair upside down or from side to side and shake it with your fingers, massage the powder in with gentle movements. Go through the hair with a brush or comb – you can also cold blow-dry for extra volume – and you’re done.
