When we asked Régime des Fleurs founders Alia Raza and Ezra Woods when they feel most connected to nature, the answer was obvious, ‘When we’re smelling flowers, of course!’. The duo are working on their first fragrance inspired by the rose for an exciting launch sometime later this year.

From performance collaborations with Chloë Sevigny to custom wallpaper by Work & Sea, it’s not a shock to learn Régime des Fleurs offer their creative services as wider consultancy. Glance over their Instagram feed and you’ll lose track of time with a taste of the research that informs their artistic palette.

Personal / Space is a range of fragrance for skin, hair and air as close to Hawaii, bottled as one might hope. You’ll find frangipani and black salt in Leis whilst Shells will teach you the Hawaiian word for passion fruit.

How does Regime des Fleurs demonstrate an eco-conscious approach to perfumery?

‘To begin with, all our packaging is recyclable and a good deal of it is reusable. A great example of this is our Artefacts candle collection. Each candle comes in a porcelain jar with lid and is packaged in a lucite box. In spite of being recyclable, we never throw any of this packaging away because we love to use all these components as containers.

The exterior box can be used as a beautiful display box in any room of the house, or as a drawer organizer and the lid especially can be used as a coaster. We all love the porcelain candle container to hold trinkets, cotton balls, palo santo sticks and its lid makes a great dish for rings and bobby pins.’

Tell us more about the creation of the Personal/Space range.

Personal/Space is our newest collection of fragrances, inspired by a 2016 artist residency we did on the island of Oahu. While researching the indigenous flora and fauna, we were inspired to create a range that encapsulated both the freshness and nostalgia of Hawaii.

We were especially fascinated by the blurred line between one’s skin and the humidity of island air. With that in mind, we conceived Personal/Space – multipurpose fragrances for the skin, the hair and the air around us. It’s our homage to paradise.’
