Brand to Watch: Von Sono

Loud logos and slogans have made a timely comeback to fashion. Compared to the logo-mania of the ’80s and ’90s, the aim today is less about status-seeking and more about self-expression—with an inescapable political twist. Dior and Stella aside, a conscious young champion of bold messaging to watch is London-based VON SONO. With charged capital letters at its core, the artisan label uses their compact collections as a means to “start a conversation and have a dialogue, as it is our world and our future.” Unwilling to remain quiet spectators of the troubled fashion game, the label’s unisex apparel is a shout-out to fairness, an uncompromised ethos which is reflected throughout their supply chain. “The world is changing and it will take a lot of speaking out to find harmony again”, voices VON SONO with their “ACTIVISM” catch phrase. This season, brands with sartorial messages like these will ultimately have the final say.
Brand to watch is our regular dispatch of standout upcoming labels merging ethics with aesthetics.
