Delfina Balda’s dressy corduroy ensemble is this week's pick for our Brand directory.

Corduroy is one loaded word. From ill-fitting professor suits in mismatch shades of brown to hopelessly uncool (but practical!) crimson red childhood trousers, the bad connotations are many. With the past few seasons’ 70s revive, “workwear velvet” has enjoyed a new momentum in a retrospect nod to the mods. For those not so keen on overly vintage styles but still appreciating corduroy’s soft/durable benefits, we found a very updated take in this two-piece from artisan label Delfina Balda. With minimal execution, this dressy corduroy ensemble is just as transitional as your go-to smart/casual denim, but way more exciting.

The brand directory picks are our favourite pieces from the labels featured in the Sustainable Brand Index.
