On the walk-in closet of dreams
Today is the big day. All my shoes are moving to their new home… A walk-in closet!!! It’s not massive, but still, a walk-in closet is a walk-in closet, right? This is not only the reason for calling today a big day, it’s also the start of our new life in the countryside. Back to the closet, I am already dreaming of how I will color-coordinate all my clothes and even underwear. I tell André that I do it because it makes it so much easier to find things – and that is partly true – but the real reason is that I just LOVE the ecstasy of (imagined) control rushing through when everything around me is tidy. This is actually something I have only realized in the few months about myself. You see, I never saw my self as a tidy control freak until we started to pack up the apartment (the state of our home has been absolute chaos the past three weeks.) At one point I thought I would have a meltdown because of the stress the messiness caused me! Looking back it was something I needed, sort of a shock treatment. Still I am probably going to be just as much a neatnik to live with at the house…
