Area NYC revisits early millennial glamour in resourceful ways.

On our minds is Area NYC, a brand revisiting early millennial glamour in resourceful ways. The brainchild of Parsons graduates Piotrek Panszczyk and Beckett Fogg, Area NYC’s vision is to portray women as ‘goddesses and power creatures’ through designs ranging from tight-fitting glittery dresses à la Carrie Bradshaw to disco-nodding flounced denim flares, referencing iconic styles and subcultures from the previous millennium. Having initially bonded over shared leftover fabrics in final year, Panszczyk and Fogg stay true to their sparing spirit to date by carrying over their own-developed textiles from one season to another. A sign of them having a moment, Area NYC recently became subject of Condé Nast’s documentary series The Fashion Fund and has been nominated for the CFDA’s Fashion Fund Designer of the Year award.
