On our minds is Hiut Denim, a brand on a mission to reinstate UK jeans manufacturing. With the mantra “do one thing well”, Hiut is proudly making nothing but denim trousers in their Cardigan-based factory. Currently employing 15 people, the brand is aspiring to increase the force to 400 in 10 years’ time through customer loyalty gained from their artisanal quality and free repair service. Part of Selfridges’ next Bright New Things (which we wrote about here), the brand will use their dedicated window display to promote the No Wash Club – an initiative put in place to discourage customers from washing their jeans more often than every six months.
