On our minds is Barneys New York’s latest initiative addressing the transparency issues in the fashion industry in an attempt to bring production back home. Pairing prominent New York-based brands such as Rag & Bone, Proenza Schouler and The Row with local NY manufacturers, the department store has taken part in initiating the capsule range “Made in New York”, a collection of men’s and women’s pieces which speak in favour of local garment workers but also the New York fashion scene at large by encouraging unestablished brands to take advantage of the small production minimums that these local manufacturers can offer.
