On our minds is Vaquera, a brand which breaks not just the gender norm but the elitist fashion norm. With a conservative Christian upbringing, founder Patric DiCaprio is an industry outsider with a folkloric (but somehow simultaneously homoerotic) expression. True to his unconcerned approach to the fashion world, DiCaprio held his AW15 show in a busy tube station in NYC, meaning that he is tired of fashion’s closed circles, scared of falling into “what the fashion calendar dictates”, and that he wants to expose his work to the everyday “normal” people who inspires his designs.
