Alice Lancaster is a New York based artist known for her humorous works which often reflect issues of the female body, mind and sexuality. She has been featured in magazines such as i-D, Paper, Wonderland and Huffington Post, and has collaborated with VEDA, American Apparel and Calvin Klein. Her art cached Calvin Klein’s creative director Fransisco Costa’s eye when he was browsing through her Instagram. One thing lead to another and the brand’s resort 2016 collection includes patterns inspired by Lancaster’s illustrations.
We ask Alice about how she makes it last.
Most revolutionary fashion memory?
– Just the other day when I saw my art on Calvin Klein Resort pieces! It was insane.
Jennifer Aniston never showers for more than three minutes. What small things do you do in everyday life to care for the environment?
– First of all that’s incredible and a little hard to believe but I trust her. I recycle compulsively (to the point where if I buy bottled water I will carry around the empty bottle until I see a recycling receptacle).
Who is your style icon?
– Shiloh Jolie Pitt.
Favorite fashion-person on Instagram?
– Manrepeller. She is hilarious.
Who would you like to spend one minute in an elevator with if you could choose anyone?
– Jeff Goldblum 😉
