France joining the ban (which is already put in place in Israel) could have a significant influence on the industry standards and we hope to see other important countries on the fashion map follow suit.

On our minds is the below-BMI model ban and France’s recent move to join the legislation. The measure, part of a wider crackdown on anorexia backed by President Francois Hollande’s government, forbids models with a BMI lower than levels proposed by health authorities to walk the runway and to starr in campaigns and model agencies and fashion brands disobeying the regulations may face fines or even jail. With Paris’ standing as the birthplace and capital of fashion, France joining the ban (which is already put in place in Israel) could have a significant influence on the industry standards and we hope to see other important countries on the fashion map follow suit.
