Journey into the visionary imagination and dark dream world of Alexander McQueen.
Out of the many recent cultural happenings celebrating the late Alexander McQueen coinciding with the 5th anniversary of his death we are perhaps most excited about the play which is soon to be put on at St James Theatre in London. Rather than a predicted biographical portrait of the designer’s life, the play is described as a ”journey into the visionary imagination and dark dream world of Alexander McQueen”; a fictionate story based on a 2008 quote from McQueen himself about a tree in his Mayfair garden. We feel this is a lovely new way to present and appreciate not just the designer and his work but potentially fashion in general, arguably raising its cultural capital. The play, simply named ”McQueen”, will be on show between 12th May – 6th June. Here. /Ada Källgren
