Dagmar: “It feels like a very good start to our ten years anniversary”
It feels like a great start to our ten years anniversary to show such a strong collection.
Describe what we are going to see on todays show.
–We will present a fantastic autumn collection – it feels like a very good start to our ten years anniversary to show such a strong collection. It’s a collection where shaded and draped parts will create a mysterious feeling where new dimensions are presented. You will also see asymmetric and oversized cuts with geometrical patterns and three-dimensional knit work.
Is there any garment in particular among your collections that you are particularly proud of, that has a sustainable approach?
– We are always striving to create pieces that are classic and innovative at the same time, both when it comes to designs and materials. I’m in particularly proud of our jersey top, which is made of lyocell – a material that’s kind to the nature. More specific for our AW15 collection, I’m proud of a knitted sweater made from ecologic alpaca and at the same time it also has an interesting cut to it. And of course, our new line with timeless, eco handbags produced in Sweden.
Why these particular pieces?
– When we started Dagmar the goal was to create a sustainable and a long-term brand with products that lasts – both style wise and when it comes to quality. Today, we work with materials that are good for the environment – like lyocell and ecological yarn. New for this season is our extended accessory line where a collaboration with Tärnsjö resulted in several handbags made with organic leather. The bags are produces in Tärnsjö, Sweden, and the quality is fantastic!
What do you think every person can do better when it comes to sustainability?
– Raise awareness about sustainable fashion, ethical production and eco materials – and communicate it with the consumers. That gives them a chance to make active sustainable choices.
What are you looking forward to in 2015?
– We are celebrating our ten year anniversary and are looking forward to celebrate it with a unique anniversary collection – in stores in April.
Today, the Dagmar collection for fall 2015 will be presented at Berns in Stockholm. Make it last asks Kristina Tjäder about the collection, her thoughts on sustainability and the brands plans for 2015.
