Bar Jewellery

After seven years working as a womenswear designer for luxury brands like Burberry and Tom Ford, Sophie Mckay decided to use her professional experience in a new context; that of a personal passion of hers: jewellery. Bar Jewellery launched in late 2016 with “the aim of becoming a positive influence on both the fashion industry and the environment”, being sustainably sourced, handmade, cast and finished in the UK.

Bar Jewellery’s first collection is a mix of sculptural pieces and redesigned classics inspired by mid century modernists such as Constantin Brancusi and Jean Arp. Label overview: Hacked is a new collection launched by the founders of Dutch label Van Slobbe Van Benthum (VSVB). For the collection sold exclusively at Amsterdam-based design concept store Hôtel Droog, designers Alexander van Slobbe and Francisco van Benthum hand-picked deadstock garments from various high street retailers and turned them into new pieces through deconstruction and time-consuming hand-stitched embroidery.
