Brand to Watch: About Arianne

by Make it last on 4 February, 2019

Ariadna Guirado and Ernest Vidal are behind About Arianne, the shoe brand ‘100% made in Spain’. You may recall Ariadna as the source of inspiration for photographer Faro’s collaboration with another Make it last favourite, The Nude Label. Based out of their studio in El Poblenou, Barcelona, the shoes are produced in Elche, Alicante.

Shoes can be tricky not to accumulate out of perceived necessity. Finding those pairs that transition not just with the seasons but over the years too, with the right balance of practicality and elegance? Trickier than we might admit. About Arianne have been busy since 2012 making shoes for a woman they know; she might keep warm in Hesperios knitwear or shop at Emma Pardos, however their classic styles go far and wide.

Their latest collection ‘Purity Mess’ includes more ankle straps and slingbacks for purposeful strides when an ankle boot covers too much. The subtly striking heel of the Galo Soft Cuir softens and updates a traditional shape without losing what makes it so wearable in the first place.

Purity Mess is inspired by a woman who retains her softness within an industrial system. The duo collaborated with vintage showroom Alabama Collect recently and shot at this collection at a studio belonging to industrial designer Cristian Herrara Dalmau, two examples of many collaborations in their relatively short time working as a brand. These are products of sensibilities homegrown, bringing together the best of Barcelona.

You can find About Arianne here and follow here.
