We’re in the process of realizing this surreal project which is building a holiday house from scratch. (I have mixed feelings writing about it, it’s such a privileged thing to do.) Plans are made, permits are granted and contractors are hired, and the actual building will start in June (if we are able to polish our concrete ground floor the way we intended to, it turned out to be uneven so we need to add another layer). Martin has taken a lead in managing this huge project (all. these. details.) and I’m in the backseat trying not to drive too much, hehe, you’ll have to ask him how I’m doing.
Right now we’re considering some interior details, like: should we make the kitchen in plywood too (this house is a plywood lover’s dream nest) or should we opt for something else? We’ve also bought a vintage couch that we’ll have to store somewhere until ca Christmas when the house will hopefully be livable. And we’re browsing the auction sites for more interior pieces… Right now I’m craving these turquise details. I could fill a house with Braakman furniture, I will just go and rob a bank first.
