I love these sunglasses from EoE’s sustainable eyewear collection that Meja (who also works at EoE) was sporting at the office today. The arches are designed in the North of Sweden and made by hand in the Italian Alps. They’re completely recyclable and biodegradable, which is great for both people and environment.
Phthalates are chemical substances used to soften plastic, and some of them are so toxic they’re banned from all toys and childcare articles. If you remove phthalates and instead use a longer curing process, you get a just as strong and flexible plastic (acetate). Cellulose acetate—a thermoplastic derived from wood pulp—is the material most often used in for example spectacles and toothbrushes. It’s that environmentally friendly kind that EoE uses in their organic collection.
The ones in the picture will hit the store this spring!
