“I love the coconut oil in the Nourish series and the coriander oil in the Uplift family”
Lars Gejlager, Nordic Technical Manager for Professional Products Division at L'Oréal, tells us about his favorite characteristics of the new Biolage R.A.W. line.
What are the ingredients in the line that make you the most excited, and why?
– Off the top of my head, all of the active oils that we have used in the line which makes a difference on the hair. Like coconut oil in the Nourish series that locks moisture in – thus keeping hair moist and soft – which helps in preventing breakage of hair. Another likable oil is the coriander oil in the Uplift family which is full of Vitamin K, C & A and antioxidants. It helps to improve overall hair health and provides conditioning, shine, and strength to the hair fiber. And a third is pure borage oil in the Replenish Oil-Mist that contains moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties for healthy hair growth.
The process of developing Biolage R.A.W. has been thorough. How long have you worked on the development and what have been the challenges with developing a natural-origin series?
– I saw the R.A.W. project for the first time in April 2015 in New York and I started to test the products in the beginning of 2016 for the Nordic market. The main challenge with the development of Biolage R.A.W. has been to meet the quality requirements of durability and to create a formula that remains as stable as possible.
What is the different between natural-origin products and nature inspired products in relation to Biolage R.A.W.?
– Biolage R.A.W. is a hair care line with 70-100 % natural-origin ingredients with few to no man-made ingredients (the man-made ingredients are primarily added to secure texture, quality and scent) whereas nature-inspired products often are products based on normal technology with few natural-origin ingredients. Here you will not experience the real feeling of natural-origin ingredients compared to if you choose a line with natural-origin.
