Does anyone actually like hair elastics?
Aren’t they just annoying necessities that mar our carefully considered outfits? That tell-tale black line across a wrist can really throw a whole look off, but for those of us not interested in taking the short hair plunge, we need something to keep it all up and out of our faces. My vote is for the hair pin. It adds elegance to a quickly assembled up-do, and intrigue to the back of one’s head (an oft-neglected spot). Also, they spare you the trip to the convenience store for more elastics even though you JUST bought some last week.
Featured above is Seaworthy’s “Sun Up” hair pin from Garmentory but we also love Quarry’s spiral hairpin from Stand Up Comedy for its whimsical prettiness; Leigh Miller’s “Moore” hairpin reminds us of Elsa Peretti for Tiffany’s; Nettie Kent’s “Riva” is for those who want an organic look and [Sans] Ceutical’s wooden pin is a lovely natural version.
On my mind: Ingrid Bergman
When in need of inspiration, Emma knows just what style icon to turn to.
At this moment, gold, hemp and beige cotton are some of the things that Emma can't seem to get off her mind—that, and a certain piece of outerwear.
