The vegetarian designer promotes her new AW16 with an animal-free campaign
In-between the worldwide days dedicated to vegetarians, vegans and animals, our minds are set on Stella McCartney’s AW16 campaign, #StellaCares, which this season took her animal-free ethos even more literally. Shot by Harley Weir and modelled once again by eco-minded icon Amber Valetta, the campaign was graphically infused by American artist Ed Ruscha’s signature sans-serif typeface spelling out slogans like “Meat Free”, “Veg Out” and “No Leathers Feathers or Fur”. Further emphasising the brand’s cruelty-free mindset, the campaign was complemented by ironic, faux behind-the-scenes video clips playing with the superficiality of veganism.
