I won’t just be a mom, I’ll be a suburban mom (!!!).

First, I would like to sincerely thank you all for the amazing things you write here on the blog. Your words and thoughts are what makes writing here fun! It’s only a month until we are moving from Södermalm in Stockholm to a little house just outside of Stockholm. And it’s with mixed emotions I am leaving the city. On one hand I can’t wait to come closer to nature, I mean this lake is one of nearest neighbors (!) and I know that life will be so much easier with both dog and baby. On the other I have lived here on Södermalm all of my adult life and might have a small personal crises before the move, I mean now I won’t just be a mom, I’ll be a suburban mom (!!!) which sounds scarier than it is? That was all from this whiny snotty person today, hope you all are well!

Frauke: Dearest Emma, I know exactly how you feel. I have spent my 20ies living in New, York, Copenhagen, London, Berlin and Hamburg and have now bought an old house on the outskirts of Hamburg with my husband which we are currently renovating. We are directly at the entrance of a nature preser forest. Yes I sometimes miss being in the middle of a big city but everything from the air, the quiet, the gree, the community among neighbours is so rewarding and fulfilling. And I find it takes you one healthy step away from the consumption and comparison/competition of living in a metropolitan city. So hang in there, it will be so rewarding=)
