Filippa’s picks: Desktop darlings

Filippa Berg has beauty distractions by British brand Bloom and Blossom on her desk.

Such a pleasure to start Sunday morning with a dog walk down by the river. Picking flowers, ferns and fir. Put them in a vase with Joni on the stereo, singing sublime Court & Spark. Then catching ideas with butterfly net for some work I’ve taken on. On my desk, beauty distractions by Bloom and Blossom, an British beauty brand I discovered last week.

Bloom and Blossom labels itself as a pregnancy and baby beauty brand, but the majority of its products work just as great when there are no babies involved. The brand does not claim to be organic, although they use mainly organic ingredients. Instead they call it “natural, without the nasties (as in parabens, SLS, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances and colourants), safe, stylish and and solution-focused”. Their philosophy is “minimum ingredients = maximum results”. The content is clearly listed and explained in English on the back of the bottles, and all is made in the UK.

So far I’ve tried the Sooting Nipple Balm and Rejuvenating Facial Spritz. Both took me by sweet surprise, The Nipple Balm (yes it’s actually for sore nipples) doubles as an amazing lip balm and also works wonders for dry cuticles. The texture melts into the skin and keeps it hydrated for hours. And it’s so nice that it doesn’t taste or smell like anything! The facial spritz smells super nice though, like lime and fresh cut grass. It’s a wonderful wake up call after hours in front of the computer or whenever you feel like a beautifying boost. Because somehow it gives you that mysterious mama glow.

Bloom and Blossom is available at DaySpa and bloomandblossom.com.
