They changed the world. Not the shirt.

Due to the relaunching campaign of Gant, putting people who “changed the world, not the shirt” in focus, Make it last lists five inspirational women who carry the white shirt with great style.

Today a style icon, though back then Katharine Hepburn was rather provocative in her casual, relaxed style in an era of Hollywood-glamour.

Jane Birkin is not only known for her acting skills, but also for her impeccable taste, often wearing the white shirt.

This iconic photo of Patti Smith was taken by her close friend and famous photographer Robert Mapplethorpe and became cover photo of her debut album Horses. The androgynous style have become a signature for the famous singer.

Actress, performance artist and style icon; Tilda Swinton carries many titles, and she looks great in her white shirts.

Even though a fictional character, Annie Hall have become an eternal inspiration with her distinctive, androgynous style. The white shirt is of course a mandatory component to her careless yet awesome outfits.
