Inspiration and fashion predictions with Carin Wester

A 60’s photo series of a group of sailors serves as inspiration for Carin Wester’s spring 2016 collection. Wester also believes that new technologies will change the fashion scene within 10 years.

How would you describe the inspiration for the collection to your best friend?
– The collection of S/S 2016 is inspired by a photo series of beautiful looking sailormen from the 60’s.

Is there any specific part of the collection that you would like to uphold regarding its sustainability?
– The part that we call “the permanent” which are garments that we develop with fabrics that can live for long. I will still use them in 10 years since they are timeless.

How do you think sustainability in fashion will evolve within the nearest future?
– I think it will evolve by a lot of new technologies and in 10 years it will hopefully be everywhere.
