So when I got to suggestion to go on a yoga trip to France I saw my chance to make two things happen. A road trip on the coast of France down to Biarritz and to finish in my beloved Galicia in northern Spain.

So when I got to suggestion to go on a yoga treats with Yogiakademin to France I saw my chance to make two things happen. A road trip on the coast of France down to Biarritz and to finish in my beloved Galicia in northern Spain.
It is not until I sit on the train taking me from Paris to Rennes that I realize that I have three weeks of holiday in front of me. The following week will be spent at a chateau outside of Bretagne with Yogiakademin, and since I have been working non-stop, still working when my ride to the airport is calling me from downstairs, I haven’t yet read about the trip and what to expect of it.
I arrive at a magnificent castle; the garden is in bloom and the view of the french country side is calming for the mind. Outside the castle chapel I meet up with my friend and old co-worker from Elle, Josephine. She and a few others has just finished an hour of meditation. Her eyes are shiny and she looks more at peace than I ever think I have seen her. She is followed by our yoga instructor Josefin Bengtsson who tells me that later on that evening we are about to enter a noble silence which in our case is 40 hours of not talking. All the other participants arrived two days ago and so I have to say I am a bit stressed about not being able to talk to anyone for the next two days.
After changing in to my yoga clothes we head back to the big garden where the whole group has gathered on the grass in the sunset for the last yoga session for the day. The sun is soft against the skin and the sound from birds and insects around me makes it easier to leave work and to-do lists behind to really try to focus on the here and now.
Later on that evening we have a ceremony for us entering the silence. At first I am a bit unsure about being silent for 40 hours, but by the next morning I find myself really enjoying it. Instead of time and energy spent on the people around me, I am a hundred procent focused on myself. My own thoughts and feelings. After the fortieth hour has past I even miss the silence!
Every morning at the castle starts with hours meditation and yoga, followed by breakfast, a nap or maybe a walk around the beautiful grounds of the castle. Around 11AM there is a another yoga session followed by lunch and free time. During the week I find myself feeling more and more calm, and I want to say safe. There is a very loving energy n the group, everybody really contributes to making the week quite special. And all the yoga, meditation and different mental exercises are not only making me feel closer to the people around me; they make me feel closer to myself.
During a session with the Holistic Health Coach Filippa Salomonsson I find myself seeing life in a new light. And by the end of the session I come to realize that my dreams are closer to reality than I might have thought. This week is not just a physical journey – it is also very spiritual. I not only improve my yoga practice, I also adopt the calmness of the french country side, eat like a queen and get myself a list of life goals.
