Envy is the religion of the mediocre!

Maria Lundell Andersson is the lead singer of the super cool band Sahara Hotnights. The band started off in a small town in the north of Sweden when the four band members were as young as 11-12. In 1999, they debuted with their first full-length album C’mon Let’s Pretend. Scroll down to read about Maria’s Eternal Flame, which has roots in the northern parts of Sweden, where she grew up.

”My mother got this acoustic guitar in the 60’s. It was made by a local guitar builder in Västerbotten close to where I grew up. I guess she stopped playing before I was born, because I never heard her or anyone else in my family ever use it. When I was around eleven or twelve, I thought acoustic guitars were a bit lame and dreamt of an electric one instead. But since I didn’t have my own money to buy one, I picked it up and started to write songs. It is not until this day I have begun to understand how dear it is to me. I’ve never performed with it, but I still play it daily at home, it has such soft sound and gives me comfort. It brings memories and will continue to make many more.”

What would be your general advice to everyone envying this thing of yours?
