Eternal Flame: Emilia De Poret

As long as I can remember I have been a fan of Hermès

On her blog, Emilia De Poret describes herself as having ”one foot in the fashion industry and the other in the music industry”. Her background as a singer opened her eyes for other creative fields such as fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Today she is frequently seen reporting about trends in the media, and she is also partner in a production and management company. Her days as a mother of (soon) two result in an interesting mix of diapering and haute couture shows. Read about what Emilia De Poret considers her ”Eternal Flame”– a piece that she’s valued for a long time.

“As long as I can remember I have been a fan of Hermès. In my opinion there is no other fashion house that masters timeless design and craftsmanship as well as they do. When I got my first record deal ages ago I purchased the bracelet, ‘Collier de Chien’ in a Hermès store in Paris to celebrate. It was something I really dreamt of owning so it was so special when I finally could afford to buy it almost 15 years ago. It has travelled with me all over the world and for a while I never even took it off. It is just a classic piece, something I will wear forever and hopefully pass on to my daughter one day.”

What would be your general advice to everyone envying this thing of yours?

– It is quite hard to find and it sells out immediately in the stores. Also the prize has probably doubled today since I bought it. My advise is to look for it at vintage auctions. It looks even better when it’s been worn and you are more likely do get it for a better prize.
