Three things to look for in a shirt

shirtShirt, Margaret Howell.

Everything you purchase should be something that you can see yourself wearing for a long long time.  The classic shirt is a really good staple all year around. Here are three things to look for in a before buying a shirt.
Fabric: Shirts are much like t-shirts, they are going to have to be washed quite frequently. When purchasing a new shirt, try to look for 100 % cotton (in the best of worlds, organic cotton) that has a bit of stiffness to it. These shirts tend to age very well and last much longer, and they don’t lose their fit like the mixed textile shirts sometimes do.
Seams: Always have a closer look att a shirts seams. It might sound like something really basic that one shouldn’t have to care too much about, but still, a garment in a good material but with bad seams doesn’t just look bad in the beginning, it will be horrible after a few washes.
Buttons: Nowadays almost all buttons are sewn on by a machine, this is a thing that a machine doesn’t exactly do better than a tailor. Always have an extra look, and make sure that the shirt comes with at least one extra button.
